Our factory in Ommen

Our Neolac organic baby foods are made from Verla, our own brand organic milk powder from our factory in Ommen. The history of the factory in Ommen goes back to 1897, when it was founded by Mr. Kramer. The factory is named "the Vechtstreek", a name that the business premises still proudly wear. In 1910 a group of farmers decided to set up a Cooperative and to take over the factory. It is the first factory with a full and continuously operating butter maker. Due to the growth in milk production in the Netherlands, the factory is becoming larger and activities are being expanded. Milk powder has also been produced in Ommen since 1928.In 1996 the factory is sold to the Hyproca Dairy Group, the current Ausnutria Hyproca and continues under the name Hyproca Dairy. Today, Hyproca Dairy is a professional dairy, which not only produces Neolac for our own brand, but also supplies high-quality dairy ingredients to various large international companies.

Our factories in Leeuwarden and Kampen

The organic milk powder from our factory in Ommen is further processed into Neolac infant food in our factories in Kampen and Leeuwarden. The origins of the factories in Leeuwarden and Kampen lie in 1912, when Lijempf (Leeuwarder Ice Cream and Milk Products Factory) was established. Already in 1938 a start was made with the development of milk formulas for baby and infant food. In 1973, Lijempf was taken over by Royal Wessanen and from that moment concentrated on the export of bottle feed under the Bebelac brand name. Due to the increased contacts abroad, the factory name is changed to Lyempf. Lyempf was taken over by Nutricia in 1993.Six years later, the Hyproca Dairy Group, the current Ausnutria, buys the factory in Leeuwarden. In 2011, the acquisition of the factory in Kampen, the factory in Leeuwarden and the factory in Kampen reunited. Today, the production of bottle-feeding is the core activity of both factories.
